Scruble Cube Review

It's game time!  What do you want to play? Scruble Cube!  If you're looking for the newest fast paced word challenge game, then Scruble Cube will certainly spark your interest.  My family LOVES educational games, word games, and strategy games.  So, when I had the opportunity to review Scruble Cube we were all waiting anxiously for it to arrive on our door step.
Ta-Da!  Here it is!  It's for 1-4 players and ages 8 and up.  I loved the design of the box.  The cube appears to be suspended inside...very futuristic!  Everything you need is in the box - the cube, a sand timer, score pad, and instructions.  Ah-ha!  The instructions are hidden behind the back panel of the box, so don't miss them!

Let's get a closer look at this crazy cube.  It turns just like the famous 80's born cube game and the letters build words with point values just like the other awesome word building board game every family has.  But, Scruble Cube takes word building games and cube spinning fun into modern day Funville, USA.  Besides this cube turning and rotating, each circle you see on each mini-cube face also rotates so as you complete your word you can turn the letters in the direction you need them to be.  Cool.  How about you take a ride on this video train to see what I'm talking about...
Yeah, I know.  Cool.  Wouldn't it be great to take a word game like this with you wherever you go?  It is travel friendly :)
  • Pass it around the car to see who can build the biggest word.....ahem, please skip the driver.
  • Bring it to a restaurant to have family game time while waiting for your meal
  • Pack it in your carry on luggage when flying
  • Make it a camping game
As a homeschool family, we are always looking for fun and educational tools to keep learning interesting.  This was definitely an added "yahoo" to our language arts lesson.  We also used it with our spelling lessons.  I challenged my son to build his spelling words.  That was hard, but interesting!  With over 7,401 septillion possible configurations, trust me, you will not get bored.
Scruble Cube also has a heart for education.  That's why they provide FREE downloads with tips, tricks and games to use Scruble Cube to enhance learning in spelling, math, language arts, and science.

OK, I promise an honest review, so that's what I'll deliver.  I have to tell you about one thing we did not like about Scruble Cube.  It's fragile.  It can break easily if not handled with real care.  Respect the age suggestion of ages 8 and up and don't allow your younger kiddos to fiddle with it.  If the rows are not lined up perfectly to rotate it then it can get jammed and the mini-cubes may pop off.  Even when holding it you get the sense that it may not hold up after some extended play.  I'm hoping this will be a soon to come improvement.

I'm very pleased to have this game as a new addition to our family.  It may be something I consider as a gift for Christmas for someone.  It's unique!  You can get yours by clicking HERE.  It's only $24.95.

  1. This looks great. Tammie and I (we have Carolina HeartStrings) always spend Thanksgiving together with our families. We always bring new games to try. This will be one for sure! (sorry if this is a dupe comment but the first one seemed to "disapear" )

  2. I like the idea of being able to travel with this, but I may need to wait until my 6-yr-old son is a bit older, huh? :)

  3. You have some fun ideas for using it as a travel game.

  4. Hi Doreen,

We like the travel aspect of the cube as well. We're always looking for something to keep us active in the car as we don't do video games while driving. Books, games, etc. are always on the list. We started playing ours in the car as well. :-)
