Lumo Project The Gospel of John Movie Review

Jesus is the Word of God made human.

This is John's account.  The Book of John points us to the miracles and the teachings of our Savior.

Here is a small snippet of what The Lumo Project is, taken from their website.

The Lumo Project is a ground breaking, multi-language biblical film resource transforming the way we discover, study and engage with the life of Jesus through the four New Testament Gospels: redefining the standard of visual Biblical media.
The Lumo Project presents four films – one for each Gospel account – that will revolutionize the way we all experience the story of Jesus and the world of First Century Palestine in which he lived.

I had the opportunity to watch the full length film, The Gospel of John, from The Lumo Project.  I wasn't sure exactly what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised.   Being a multi-language film, I was able to choose between NIV, KJV, and Spanish.  I chose NIV.  I could have sat with my Bible opened and followed right along!  It was word for word, no fillers and fancies.  Just the beautiful Word of God.  But, as I listened, I was taken on a visual journey through the account of the Book of John.  The scenery was amazing and I really got a sense of the true time.  As silly as it may seem, I was happy to see Jesus portrayed as an average looking man, with dark hair and brown eyes.  Where do these other modern day films get the idea that Jesus had light brown hair and blue eyes and belonged on the cover of GQ?

Do you have any idea how easy it is going to be for YOU to see this film?  Go to Netflix.  Shabam!  There it is starting December 1, 2014.  Pop the popcorn and gather the family.  This is something for all to see.

Get in on all the talk and info for this life-giving film.

Susie's Hope DVD Movie Review & GIVEAWAY

Ah, sweet Susie!  This is such a precious story.  I have to be honest.  I am not a dog lover.  Hey, don't judge me.  But, this movie really caught my eye and I am SO glad I watched it.  I mean, look at that sweet puppy on the cover!  I wanted to know her story.

Here is a bit about the movie:  Based on the true story that successfully passed Susie’s Law in North Carolina, which seeks stricter punishment for animal abusers, Susie’s Hope brings to life the inspirational relationship between pit bull attack survivor Donna Lawrence and Susie, a pit bull-mix puppy found beaten, burned and left for dead. Recognizing reflect and abuse were to blame for the tragic attack that nearly claimed her life 10 months earlier, Donna resumes the battered animal and accepts her as family. Together, they learn to heal, love and forgive as they lead a historic effort to seek justice and protection, not only for Susie, but all animals.

Here is a bit about Susie's story and her heroism:   Susie was found nearly dead in Greenfield Park in Greensboro, North Carolina on August 20, 2009. Just a puppy, Susie had licked the face of her owner’s newborn baby. Her owner became violent—she was beaten so severely her jaw was broken. That wasn’t enough, though. She was then set on fire and left for dead. Incredibly and against all odds Susie survived. Donna Lawrence adopted her two months later. Susie is now a trained therapy dog and even the American Humane Association’s American Hero Dog this year!

Please, take three minutes and watch this video that tells about how Susie has impacted the lives of many and how her story changed the laws for animal abusers.

Now, let's talk about the movie.  It was a great family movie, with good acting and an engaging story line.  The actors were believable, which can be a hard thing to accomplish.  I really felt like they were telling and living their own stories.  I came away from watching this movie with a little more compassion for dogs, especially at-risk dogs like pit bulls.  Take a peek at this trailer and you will want to watch it for sure.

I hope you will take a moment and visit the Susie's Hope website.  You'll get tons more information there about her story, her cause, and how you can be a part of her mission.  You can purchase the DVD there for $24.99 and support this non-profit organization, Susie's Hope.
