Faith & Family Films presents The Woodcarver DVD!
I cuddled up with my hubby and 12 year old son to watch this movie last week. What a great time spent with my family! (The buttery popcorn was a plus, too) Remember Cliff from Cheers? Do you love the voice of Hamm in The Toy Story? That's John Ratzenberger. He plays the lead role in The Woodcarver.
Here's a little bit about the movie....
Matthew
Stevenson is a troubled kid from a broken home. When he vandalizes the
local church to get back at his parents, Matthew has to repair the
damage to the church to avoid criminal charges. While working at the
church, he meets Ernest (John Ratzenberger), an accomplished wood
carver who created the intricate woodwork decoration that Matthew
destroyed. Ernest has become something of a hermit, but reluctantly
comes out of reclusion to help repair the church. Now Ernest and Matthew
must work together to preserve the church's beautiful antiquity, and
along the way, they also manage to restore their faith in God and in
life.
The acting was good, the storyline had some surprises and the message was loud and clear....faith, forgiveness, grace, and second chances. That's my kind of message. I loved that my pre-teen son enjoyed the film. It's movies like this that will keep him interested in wholesome entertainment. Take a peek at this trailer and you will want this DVD for your next family movie night!
This movie was just released on DVD today, March 13, 2012. You can purchase it for only $10.92 at ChristianCinema.com The regular price is $14.99 so don't wait! I don't know how long that awesome discount will last.
